Kelley brings 20+ years of experience in mental/behavioral health. Although she’s been in West Michigan for over 15 years, her early career roots began in Boston and Chicago. Kelley obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Miami University (Ohio) and Master’s of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. She has a School Social Work Certification and brings expertise in navigating school systems and the special education process.
Kelley enjoys working with kids/adolescents ages 8 and up, along with their families. She also sees college students and adults. She values the importance of developing rapport and trust to help her understand where someone is coming from and where they want to be. She is known for her ability to listen and communicate with people of all ages in an engaging, knowledgeable manner. Kelley believes that therapy is most helpful when there is a good connection between client and therapist, in a compassionate and supportive space.
Kelley utilizes multiple approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Informed practices, strengths-based & problem-focused therapy. Building self-awareness and learning new skills is an important part of these approaches.
