Lauren brings over 12 years of experience in behavioral health. She obtained her Bachelor and Master of Social Work from Western Michigan University, as well as attendance of the Specialty Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse (SPADA). Lauren brings a non-judgmental approach and is experienced in working with people whose lifestyles differ from majority beliefs. She is open to all spiritual beliefs, sex positive and poly friendly. Helping others feel understood and confident to live a full, authentic life is her true calling. Holistic assessment and collaboration create the foundation of a strong therapeutic relationship. Lauren respects the autonomy of each person as holding the key to their own success.
Working together as a team, treatment is based on a foundation of Person-Centered and Trauma Informed Care. Evidence based practices incorporated include Motivational Interviewing (MI), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and group therapy. Lauren has received additional training in Polarity Thinking through the Interprofessional Institute for Polarity Thinking in Healthcare which has given her the skills to see dilemmas from both sides, allowing for a more balanced approach to service delivery.
